November 22, Day 162 – Prichard Long Point, MM 208.6 to Santa Rosa Island, MM 217.4

We started the day out with a trip to Brian and Ann’s house (the couple that had called us on the VHF the evening before) to go to WalMart for fishing licenses and a few other provisions. They are a terrific couple who welcomed us and gave us a tour of their wonderful home.

After we returned to the boats, we decided to head out to Santa Rosa Island and hang out for a couple of days. This was a short trip, but it would allow Gerry to finish doing the maintenance on the boat before we cross over to Tarpon Springs.

Once at the anchorage, he finished the oil and filter changes on the engine and Gen Set and decided to finish the rest tomorrow morning.

We were invited to Second Star for burgers, so Linda made a potato salad and Gerry took the dinghy for a ride around the anchorage – dragging a lure behind him to take advantage of that new fishing license. He didn’t catch anything, but Michel was busy hauling in catfish.

We went over for dinner and worked out a plan to go to Panama City Marina for Thanksgiving. The food was great, even had dessert. We came back to the boat, checked email and toddled off to bed.

Bryan and Ann on their deck ..... thanks so much for the hospitality

BACK IN TIME -- For those of you that have been following our blog, you'll recall that back on September 21, Day 100, we went through the Asian Carp Barrier on the Illinois River. For several days after we would often see the Asian Carp jumping all over the place. We were never able to get a good enough picture to post, but one of our fellow boaters shared their clip with us. Seeing the dolphins jumping the other day reminded us we had never posted the Asian Carp jumping ...... so for your viewing pleasure here are the carp, courtesy of Linda from the boat Where's Linda
