November 19, Day 159 – In Mobile

We woke up this morning to the sound of workers outside the boat. They were there to wax the hull. Shortly after that the guy that was replacing the through hull arrived. While all this was going on, we returned the rental car, but were delayed a bit because the courtesy van had not yet been returned. All in all, there were still some odds and ends that needed to be done, so we were not able to leave with the other 2 boats today. However, by 3:00, Monk’s Vineyard was back in the water and everything appeared to be ready except for the air conditioning unit. It needs some more Freon so hopefully they can do that first thing in the morning and we’ll be on our way.

Once we were back in the water, we scrubbed down the deck and topsides. Boats get incredibly dirty in a boatyard. We were still working as the sun set and it became too chilly to continue.

Gerry worked on routes and Linda tidied up the cabin; then we had a quick dinner and off to bed

The prop coated with prop speed. Even Linda thought it looked GOOD.

Prop and rudder

Waxed hull ... even the scratches we got from the "lock wall" encounter are gone

Looking good ...... nice bottom
