January 27, Day 216 – In Fort Myers

Today was another one of those “not much going on” days. Gerry did a few chores and then went out with Michael to get a few more things. Linda spent her day doing laundry, cleaning the inside of the boat and fighting with the post office over a missing package. We have our mail forwarded to a mail forwarding service in Florida. You can temporarily have mail forwarded for 6 months, then you can renew it again for another 6 months. After we renewed it for the additional 6 months we got confirmation that it had been extended. However, immediately after that our mail started arriving at our home in Maryland. Checked with the post office, they “sort of” apologized and said they’d take care of it. However, in the meantime, we’d had a lot of mail delivered to our home address. Our friends bundled up all of that mail and sent it “express mail/overnight” to us in Fort Myers. Never arrived. For the first 24 hours it didn’t even show up in the tracking system, then when it did, it showed it was delivered to our friends (the sender). After a couple of days it become apparent there was no way to get this straightened out, so our friends are going to sign for it and, since they are coming to Florida in a couple of weeks, they will hand deliver it. URGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Gerry bought a fish filleting board and then tried to figure out how to mount it on the boat rail when needed (right – for all the fish he is going to catch). We had dinner on board, watched a little TV and then off to bed.

Here's Gerry's fish fillet table, with fish. Now doesn't that look yummy ! ! !
