January 25 Day 214 – In Fort Myers

We woke up this morning to strong winds and rain. To be truthful, we really didn’t “wake up” as we were awake most of the night. The wind howled and, in spite of the breakwater, the marina basin was pretty rough so we rock and rolled all night. Linda was supposed to get her hair cut this morning, but the salon was several blocks away, so she called and canceled. That will have to wait for a better day.

Around noon, Gerry and Michael went to pick up a rental car at Enterprise. There are several things we want to get done and, after our experience with the expensive cab ride, decided it would be best to get a rental car.

We spent the rest of the day driving all over Fort Myers to get supplies, boat parts, charts, propane, wine, etc. that either we or Michael and Jana needed. Around 7:00 we called it a day, stopped for food at a Mexican restaurant (which was very good) and then home to bed. It wasn’t exactly a fun day, although we did laugh a lot throughout our journey, but it was productive. Sorry, no pictures today.
