We finally got underway at noon. The first part of the ride was a little bumpy, but the wind soon died, the sun came out and the seas flattened; in other words, it turned into a beautiful day. We arrived at our anchorage a little after 3:00. The entrance was a bit tricky with a shoal and shallow water, but we’d gotten advice from several people that had anchored in Pelican Bay several times and so, going in slow, we had no problem.
After anchoring we did a few chores and then took down the dinghy so we could explore over the next couple of days. We went to the dinghy dock at Cayo Costa State Park and took the trail to the other side of the island and the Gulf. We watched the sunset and then walked back to the dinghy dock. A short dinghy ride and we were back at the boat.
We grilled wurst for dinner, watched a little TV and then off to bed. There is a new moon, so without any moonlight it was very dark outside.
We had dolphins run with us for quite awhile today .... so took several shots. Here are a few
