January 26 Day 215 – In Fort Myers

Some days it’s easy to write the narrative for the blog because there was so much going on. Then there are days like today – not much at all, anyway not much worth writing about. Suffice it to say we got up, Linda went for a haircut and Gerry worked on the bikes to make sure they were okay. The folding bike with the gas motor seems to be fine. He got everything working. The electric bike works fine as “just a bike”, but the battery is toast. It self destructed once it hit the water. We’ll need to look into a replacement for that, but in the meantime, it’s fine for peddling around.

We drove to Naples as Gerry had some business there. The drive took over an hour and there was lots of traffic. We really didn’t get a chance to look around much before we headed back home. It was past 5:00 when we got back to the boat so we poured a drink and went to Second Star to visit Michael and Jana (Michael had been working all day on his autopilot installation and was definitely ready to call it a day). We ordered pizza delivery, visited a bit and then off to bed.

This is the only picture we took today --- a paddleboat going by. It was the first of a long line of vessels. The wind had died down considerably and there were lots of boats crusing up and down the river.
