March 6, Day 254 – In Marathon

We got up early and went for breakfast at the 7 Mile Grill. It’s such great food and we needed something to give us energy to continue our waxing project. After breakfast we continued with the boat compounding/polishing/waxing project. We made great progress, but it’ still not quite done. We still have the top part of the port side to do. We actually waxed that a few months ago, so it’s not nearly as bad as the rest of the boat. We’ll have to do that underway as we ran out of steam. However, the boat does look much better. Three days of work on the boat has made a big difference.

In the afternoon we borrowed a car and went one last time to Publix. Bought soda, water and wine and called it good. We plan on leaving tomorrow around noon.

Around 4:30 a bunch of us (loopers) walked down to the Sunset Grille and Raw Bar for happy hour. We had a few drinks and appetizers and had a great time. By the time we got back to the boat we called it a night and went to bed. Tomorrow we’ll get the boat ready to go and hopefully leave and head north.

The sunset wasn't as great as the last time we were here (no clouds) but there was a big orange ball dropping into the horizon.
