April 8, Day 287 – In Palm Coast

We woke to the sound of lawn mowers this morning. That hasn’t happened for awhile. As we were thinking about breakfast, the gang on Second Star knocked on the boat and said they’d just got a phone call that someone would be by shortly to pick us up for a provisioning run. We are here in the area to attend a pre-MTOA party this evening before heading north to St. Augustine for the MTOA rendezvous. The couple hosting the party, Phil and Sarah Lowe, were also arranging transportation for anyone needing to make a trip to the grocery store.

After a successful provisioning trip, the women made dishes for tonight’s event and Gerry and Michael went by dinghy to the Lowe home so we’d know for sure where it was. The canals can get a little confusing if you’re not sure where you’re going.

Early in the evening we headed to the party. Boy can these people throw a great party – there must have been over 50 people there and food enough to feed an army. I guess the local members here do this on a regular basis to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries each month. Anyway, we got to meet a lot of people, share stories and have some great food.

Back at the boat we soon headed to bed as we plan on an early departure tomorrow.

There was food to the right

.... and food to the left .... and this was just the main course. There had been appetizers earlier and there was a whole counter full of desserts

People were everywhere ..... at the pool

.... the screened in porch

.... and of course, in the house itself. It was a fun evening and we certainly appreciated the hospitality of the Lowe's.
