We have noticed that there are large flocks of Canadian Geese headed south. I think we will join them as soon as possible.
Gerry had done all of the systems checks and Linda has done her walking for the day, so took the boat over to get a pump out and check on the mail status. Mail was a no show, so we headed out for Mosquito Bay.
Mosquito Bay wasn’t as neat as described in the cruising guide and it was exposed to the wind that we were having today, so we moved on to check out the anchorage at Bedford Island. It wasn’t up to our standards either, so we moved on to Amendroz Island. Strike three! On to the Benjamin’s.
This is a very nice spot with interesting rock formations and a beautiful setting. There are 12 other boats here, but plenty of room for all of us. The cruising guide said that there are over 50 boats in here during the summer months. Tomorrow is the first day of school for kids up here, so I think that means that summer is now over.
Linda did dinner tonight and did a much better job than Gerry did last night. We decided to get the dinghy down and do a quick tour before it got dark.
Gerry decided that the tubes needed to be filled with air and got the pump out to take care of that (the cold temps have caused a bit of deflation).
Linda started to get in the dinghy and something went wrong! She “missed-the-boat”, so to speak and went for an unplanned swim as she fell into the water. After a bit of concern, we got her back to the boat, deployed the swim ladder and up she went. After drying off and changing clothes, we took off on our little tour – minus her camera and sportsbrain pedometer, which were casualties of her swim.
Then it was back to the boat to check on email (via the phone modem) and off to bed.
