Still in Bimini

12/19-12/20 - We spent the next couple of days relaxing, doing chores, wandering the Island and even attended a tree trimming party. It is quite windy so we are staying put for a couple of days. We hope to head out Tuesday morning and make our way to Nassau over the next 2 days. We will have to cross the Great Bahama Bank, spending one night at anchor in the middle of the open water. The depth in the Great Bahama Bank averages around 10 feet so, once nightfall lands, we’ll move off the channel and drop anchor. Should be interesting. The next day we’ll press on to Nassau. We should have internet there, so check back in a few days for an update. In the meantime you can check our progress on our Spot tracker.

A couple of storefronts along the Kings Highway
The one to the left is a tailor -- their sign states
"Howards Friendly Tailoring -- We keep you in stiches"
The building on the right is a bar

This is the Bimini General Store.  It had more stuff than you can imagine,
including a live Christmas tree.
We bought a meat tenderizer (for pounding conch).

Fireplace blazing
(well it was actually a DVD on the TV)

Decorating the tree with seashells, seaglass and other
"seastuff"

What's this you ask??
Well, during the night, one of our big round fenders
worked its way off the boat because of the wind action.  We thought we'd
never see it again, but while out on a dinghy ride Monday,
we spotted it on the shore across from the marina.
Great luck, as those things are not cheap!!
