At Tarpon Bay Yacht Club, Port St. Lucie

12/4-12/9 – We spent a week at the Tarpon Bay Yacht Club (TBYC), thanks to the generosity of some great people. Ed Neel made the arrangements and we stayed in a slip belonging to fellow MTOAers Bob Kassal and Gayle Mitchell on Chateau de Mer. Their boat was having repairs made at Harbortown Marina and so their slip at TBYC was available.

We had a very busy week starting with lots of chores (provisioning, getting meds, haircuts, etc.) in case we cross to the Bahamas within the next week or two. We spent part of 2 days looking at properties in the Stuart/Port St. Lucie area, 5 of which were in the Tarpon Bay Yacht Club complex. We went out with Ed and Delores and 2 other couples on Friday to the Elks Club where we had a great dinner and danced the night away. The next day Michael and Jana on Second Star arrived and we all went out to dinner at the Sailor’s Return, a great restaurant in Stuart. The next night we attended happy hour at the TBYC Club House and another night Ed and Delores hosted Michael, Jana and us for dinner. Like I said, we were busy all week long.

We plan to head out tomorrow working our way south and watching for a weather window to cross to the Bahamas.
