Gerry had earlier ordered a new WiFi extender system called WiFiAntennaEZ. It just so happened that the vendor was out of Reedville, so instead of sending it to us, he just delivered it to us once we were settled in at the marina. He lives onboard his boat at the same marina.
Around 1:30 we got a call on the VHF from Emotion III. There were about a half hour out. They arrived right after 2:00. It was great to see them again. There were lots of hugs and laughing and we spent the rest of the day catching up on each other’s adventures over the past 5 months. Michel and Carole hosted happy hour and made us a special drink – a Goombay Smash – a rum drink they had learned in the Bahamas.
We pulled resources and had a pot luck dinner on their boat. It rained quite hard while we were eating. The forecast for the past several days had indicated thunderstorms, but this was the first rain we'd seen the past week. We shared a few more stories and then they showed us video from their adventures in the Exumas. It was a fun evening. Around 10:00 we called it a night and headed back to our boat, which conveniently was parked right next door to Emotion III. Oh, did I mention we had more than one Goombay Smash, so not having far to walk was good !!
The anchorage at sunrise. Very quiet and beautiful
A shot as we headed out the anchorage for the Bay
Gerry threw out the lines and quickly got a bite
It was a small blue fish --- but it counted as a catch (and release)
Entering the Great Wicomico River -- and then on to Reedville
Reedville is home to a fish processing plant -- the largest in the U.S. The smell from the plant is a little bit stinky, but they use a new air drying process and we're told it doesn't smell nearly as bad as it used too when they boiled the fish to release the oils.
This is one of the stacks used in the old boiling process
We didn't know it at the time we took the previous picture, but the locals are trying to preserve the stack. Here's a poster that we noticed in town. In part it states ... It stood through 50 hurricanes, the great depression and countless fires, but apathy may be its down fall. Please help to save this icon.

Hi there,
Great to hear from you. Where are you guys .... still our sailing or back at home??
We are in Timmins, Ontario. Pat took a contract for 6 months. We sure do miss our adventure. Our boat is in Indian Town, awaiting for our return at the beginning of November. We will then continue on to the Bahamas. Be safe.
