June 1, Day 341 – In Norfolk

We had planned on leaving Norfolk today, but the weather didn’t want to cooperate. It was quite windy (small craft advisories for the Bay) and thunderstorms were forecast. Also, we were still waiting for our mail and, even if it came, we’d get a late start. In addition, we’re kind of hanging back, waiting for our old cruising buddies, Michel and Carole on Emotion III, to catch up with us. So ….. we decided to stay one more day. Linda did several loads of laundry and Gerry tackled some antenna issues. He also took Jim (Sales and Nails) to West Marine to get a part he needed. Then he dropped off the rental car.

We spent the rest of the day doing chores, including making a big batch of Mexican steak in the pressure cooker. It will be great for meals later in the week (over rice, in burritos, etc).

We went out for an early dinner then back at the boat watched a little TV and then to bed. Since our mail finally arrived late in the afternoon, we plan an early departure tomorrow. Chesapeake Bay …. here we come.

We've been home almost 2 weeks and our time in Norfolk seems like forever ago! Miss our time on the water. Have fun on the Chesapeake!
