We finally got underway a little after 11:00. The weather was much better today – about 15 degrees cooler, lower humidity and a nice breeze. After traveling for awhile we studied the charts and decided we’d stay either at Tom Point Creek or Church Creek. After a check of the forecast wind direction for the evening we decided on Tom Point Creek. We had a very leisurely cruise, arriving at 5:00 -- just in time for happy hour!!
After puttering on the computer awhile, Gerry decided to fix dinner. He prepared a dish we used to have in Germany quite often when we lived there. It’s basically a pork steak smothered with sautéed onions and then topped with melted cheese. Also had fresh asparagus. All very good. He even did the dishes – wadda guy !!!
We watched the sunset (not really colorful, but pretty), but it was almost chilly and so we soon came back inside. What a change in the weather.
We watched a little TV then off to bed. Nice sleeping weather tonight.
A shot of Beaufort from the water as we cruised by
This is the Ladies Island Swing Bridge. It was closing as we approached, but we were low enough we didn't need it open.
There are several sandbars around the Beaufort area. They were busy with lots of boats, people and dogs.
The non-floating docks are a long way out of the water when the tide is out. The boat on the lift looked strange being so far out of the water.
