May 1, Day 310 – In Jacksonville

Last night we thought we were back at Six Mile Creek. There was an awful racket outside. We would go outside and it would disappear. We knew it was some kind of critter, but couldn’t find it. Linda insisted it was right outside the main cabin window. Gerry finally got up and went out again and, sure enough, there was a little green tree frog. Guess we picked it up at Six Mile Creek and brought it with us to Jacksonville. Gerry scared it, but it only got as far as the dinghy – then he couldn’t reach it anymore. It stayed there most of the night, croaking off and on, but by morning it seemed to be gone.

After a great Saturday morning breakfast, Gerry did a few maintenance chores while Linda washed down the boat. Then we cleaned up and headed for the shopping area. We bought a few things at West Marine, some fresh produce at Publix and then went to the Longhorn Steakhouse for lupper (combination of lunch and supper).

Back at the boat we did a few more things to get ready for our departure tomorrow. We are leaving early in order to catch the rising tide at Sisters Creek. Our goal tomorrow: LEAVE FLORIDA.
