Daufuskie

11/13-11/14 – We raised anchor a little after 8:00 and were on our way for a short run to Daufuskie. Last spring we docked for free at a bankrupted marina; this time we chose to anchor in the New River. On Sunday we hopped in the dinghy and went ashore to explore and have lunch. We first tried Marshside Mamas, but it wasn’t open so we headed to the opposite end of the Island to the Freeport Marina and the Daufuskie Crab Company. Gerry had – believe it or not – a fried bologna sandwich which he said was great. Linda opted for something more normal – pulled pork. There was a fishing competition, an oyster roast and a band playing – so lots of activity going on. After lunch we headed outside with a drink and listened to the band and did some people watching. A nice afternoon.
