Last Day at Exuma Park

1/8/11 – Gerry spent the morning working in the bilge – one of his favorite places. He changed the oil in the generator, changed the impeller, topped off the batteries and changed the water filter. After lunch we took the dinghy over to the other side of the mooring field and joined Michael and Jana on the beach. Gerry installed the power fins on the outboard so we have improved performance. While exploring the beach we found a nice piece of driftwood which we will use for our “nameplate” for Boo Boo Hill.

In the evening we joined other cruisers in the mooring field for a Happy Hour hosted by the Park Headquarters. It was a nice finish to the day.

1/9/11 – We got up at sunrise and headed for Boo Boo Hill. With coffee in hand and our decorated piece of driftwood we walked to the top in less than ½ hour. It was a gorgeous morning and we could see the seas were dead calm in all directions. Should be a great travel day. We found a good spot for our driftwood nameplate, took a few pictures and headed back down the hill. We did a quick checkout at the office and were on our way to Staniel Cay by 10:00.

It was a busy day at the dinghy dock -- 7 dinghies in a row

A shot of Monk's Vineyard and Second Star from across
the mooring field

Palm trees and blue water -- it doesn't get
any better than this

If you look closely, you can see Gerry napping on the beach

Gerry out on the point

We climbed up the hill and looked out at the Sound

Gerry found a great piece of driftwood and Linda
decorated it with the boat name, grapes and glass of wine
... and here's a shot of our nameplate at the top of Boo Boo Hill
