Linda fixed a special breakfast – pancakes, eggs, and bacon. We had the last of the Bear Lake raspberry syrup that Gary and Martha gave us for Xmas. Note to G&M – we need some more of that.
We put the mast back up this morning (anchor light was a bit low last night). Turned out to be a bit more work than Gerry predicted. Linda pointed out that the shrouds appeared to be pretty tight. Loosening them did the trick. Good thing Linda still remembered some sailing stuff.
Went for a short dinghy ride to check out the area north of us and see if we could get a cell phone signal. Neat area with really nice lakeside cabins (camps for those from New England). Finally picked up a cell phone signal and had a message from Gary and Martha. They were in Salt Lake to see the Tooele parade for the 4th.
They also told us about Steve & Karen’s new toy – a 26’Sea Ray with all the goodies. We will have to cancel their reservations with us in Canada – no Sea Ray owners on this boat!!!! Well, since we forgot to tell them about that policy, I guess we will waive the rule – once.
We are in a really pretty anchorage with clear water – we can see the anchor line down at 10 feet – not like the Chesapeake. The lake is huge with lots of islands and anchorages. Too bad the weather isn’t cooperating very well – rain showers and thunder storms.
Gerry took a swim and cleaned the bottom a little. The water was clean, but nippy. Had a voice mail from Mark Johnson. We plan to visit with them sometime next week. Took the dinghy out into the lake to see if we could get a signal and finally had a short conversation. Linda took some neat pictures – we will get them posted when we get a signal.
We still plan to go to Vergennes tomorrow afternoon. Too bad that Dick & Diane couldn’t have joined us here – it is a beautiful area. We are hoping for better cell reception so that we can get the blog updated.
